This Privacy Policy should be read alongside, and in addition to the Veera Terms of Use (“Terms”), and any other terms and conditions that you agree to with respect to Veera’s Services.

Whenever we refer to ‘information’ or ‘data’ under this Privacy Policy, we refer to your information (described in ‘Information we collect’). Whenever we refer to the ‘law’ under this Privacy Policy, we are referring to those laws as amended from time to time.

2.     Who we are

 

In this Privacy Policy, us, our, we, or Veera mean Oasis Software Pte. Ltd., a company incorporated under the laws of Singapore, having its registered office at 72 Circular Road,#02-01, Singapore 049426. We offer you a rewards-based web-browser. In doing so, we collect, process, and store certain personal information about you. When we do so, we are regulated by the Information Technology Act 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures for Sensitive Personal Data and Information) Rules 2011, and other Applicable Laws.

4.     Enhanced Privacy Features

 

We enable you to exercise greater control over what information you share with us and third-parties through our browser. We do not store any records of your browsing history. To enjoy enhanced privacy protections on your browser, you can enable the Veera Kavach feature on your application. The protections that Veera Kavach offers will include blocking ads, cookies, trackers, and fingerprinting (while you use Veera’s browsing services).

 

5.     Information we collect and how we use the information

 

a. When you access the Veera browser  

 

i.    We collect limited information from you that is necessary to improve your experience of using our Services. We may collect certain information from your use of, or interaction with the Veera browser, application, Services, or Content. These are types of information we collect and the purpose that we use the information for:

Information received through User Agent- a software which facilitates your interaction with Veera’s web browser. User Agent identifies your operating system, software and the application on which you use our Services(collectively “User Agent Information”).

b. When you redeem loyalty points or rewards

 

i.    We will ask you to share your phone number with us, every time you redeem the rewards or loyalty points. But we do not store your phone number on our servers. We will use this information to:

 

●      identify you and help you redeem your rewards;

●      comply with any Applicable Laws which may apply to us;

●      mitigate risks of frauds during the redemption process; and

●      prevent users from misusing the Services, or circumventing any requirements to redeem their rewards.

 

ii.  We will verify your phone number using a one-time password. The redemption feature for rewards will be available to you only if you share your phone number with us.

 

c. When you view Ads

If you choose to have the opportunity to win rewards while using our Services, we may display ads to you. This means you will view ads in the form of notifications and in-browser sponsored content while using Veera browser and Services. The categories of ads that you see and when you see them are inferred from your browsing activity. The opportunities to win rewards will be directly proportional to the frequency of ads you choose to view. Depending on the frequency of ads that you chose to view, we may collect your personally identifiable information like IP Address and User Agent Information.

d. When you view News on Veera

Veera hosts web-pages that display news sourced from other news publishers. You may select different individual categories or themes of content for news that you want to view in your newsfeed. You can do this through the settings feature on the Veera app. While your sessions on the Veera newsfeed do not leave your device and are not stored on Veera servers, we may use your chosen preferences to show you content in the newsfeed (based on your interests).

e. When you contact us

When you contact us through email, or other communication channels available on Veera application for your queries or concerns, or to report any grievance, you may end up sharing your personal information with us. We may retain and use any information that you may share in this process to review, investigate, and respond to whatever it is that you have contacted us about.

f. When you provide us Feedback

You may choose to provide us feedback in connection with the Services that you use. The feedback we collect, in most cases, will be anonymous, and cannot be linked back to you. However, where the content of the feedback contains any persona information, we may use the information to act on the feedback, and improve the Services.  

g. When Diagnostic Reports are Generated

 

There may be instances where the Veera browser on your device crashes or freezes. Veera browser, in this case, creates a diagnostic report that diagnoses and fixes the issue that caused the problem. This report may contain information about you, your device or the event that causes the problem. We cannot use this information to identify you.  

 

6.     Disclosure of your information

 

a. We may share your information with third-parties including our service providers. For example, service providers that help in measuring ad performance and user engagement across networks and channels. The information we share with our third-party service providers includes IP Address and User Agent Information.

 

b. We may also disclose you information to third parties for these reasons:

 

i.  if we sell or buy any business or assets, we may have to disclose your information to the prospective seller or buyer, Also, if we transfer ownership of our Services to a third party, we may also transfer your information to the third party. But we will only share the information that is needed for the transfer to take effect; and

 

ii.  if we must disclose or share your personal information to: (a) comply with Applicable Law, or our legal obligations, (b) enforce our agreements, and (c) protect our rights, property, or safety, or those of our users or others.

 

  1. We will ensure that the third parties (we share your information with) maintain the same or higher level of data protection as is observed by us under the Applicable Law.

 

7.     Period for which we retain your information

 

  1. We do not store your  information for a period longer than necessary to provide you Services. However, to ensure compliance with Applicable Laws, we may need to retain     some parts of your information even after you have stopped using our Services. For examples, we may maintain a record of your grievances and their resolution for the period required under the Applicable Law. We may also retain your information if it advisable in view of our legal position with respect to litigation or regulatory investigations.

 

  1. We may continue to use your  anonymized data - which is aggregated or combined with anonymized data of other users - even after you have stopped using our Services. We use this for analytics, research and other business purposes.

 

8.     Your rights

 

You will have these rights with respect to your personal data that we collect and store, and you can exercise these rights by writing to our Grievance Officer.

 

  • Confirmation:  You can ask us to confirm if we are processing your personal data.

 

  • Review:  You can ask us for a copy of your personal data held by us.

 

  • Rectification:  You can inform us about changes to your personal data, and ask that we correct any erroneous or incorrect personal data that we hold. We are not     responsible for the authenticity of the data you provide us. Please ensure  you notify us without undue delay of any changes to the personal data that  you have provided to us by contacting our Grievance Officer.

 

  • Restrictions  on Processing: You can ask us to erase your personal data, block or restrict the processing of your personal data, or object about specific ways in which we use your personal data.

 

  • Withdrawal of Consent: You have the option to withdraw consent given to us for collection and processing of your personal data by writing to the Grievance Office at     [email protected]. In such cases, we reserve the right to stop  providing Services for which your personal data was sought. Your  withdrawal will become effective when you receive an acknowledgment from us. You understand that despite your request to withdraw consent, we may  still need to retain some data about you to comply with Applicable Laws.

 

9.     Third-party services accessed through Veera browser

 

This Privacy Policy is only applicable for Veera’s use of your information. Where users access third-party services or applications through our browser or Services, we are not responsible for the privacy practices or policies of the third-parties. Were commend that you refer to the privacy policy of the third-parties before using their websites, applications or services.

 

10.     Security Practices

 

We deploy adequate technical and organizational security measures to protect your persona information. Some of these include: firewalls, encryption, and access controls. We, however, are not responsible for circumvention of any our privacy settings or security measures, including through the unlawful acts of third parties.

We may make changes to our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect the changes in the Services we provide, or modifications in Applicable Law. Enhanced Privacy Features

To enable you to enjoy enhanced privacy protections on your browser, by default Veera Kavach feature is enabled on the Veera Application. Veera Kavach offers protections which may include ad blocks, cookies, trackers, and fingerprinting from third parties (while you use Veera’s browsing services). However, it should be noted that some of the features and services of the Veera browser may not operate properly if Veera Kavach settings are disabled.

When you access the Veera browser

We collect limited information from you that is necessary to improve your experience of using our Services. The information may be collected at various instances and through various interactions on the Veera Application or when interacting with customer support. Pursuant to the services to be provided from time to time, we may request additional information. You may choose to provide such information if you wish to use our services. We may require more information as we expand the scope of our services, for which we will request your explicit consent.

We may collect certain information from your use of, or interaction with the Veera Application, Services, or Content. These are types of information we collect and the purpose that we use the information for:

User Agent identifies your operating system, software and the application on which you use our Services. We may collect information about your devices including hardware model operating systems and device identifiers (collectively “User Agent Information”).

This will be used for crash diagnostics, to identify if a feature breaks on specific software/hardware models and in the process enhance user experience. We will also use this information to show you Content that best suits your device, software and operating system.

Location information; crash logs, diagnostics, app interactions and other app performance data.

For enhancing user experience and to maintain / improve our Services or develop new ones.

When you create a User Profile

If you choose to create a User Profile on the Veera browser, we will ask you to share your name, phone number, gender, date of birth, email id and your preferences with us. We will use this information to customize our Services to your preferences and your date of birth to ensure you are eligible to use our Services. We will also verify your phone number and email using industry standard verification methods.

When you view Ads

We may display ads to you. This means you will view ads while using the Veera Application. The categories of ads that you see and when you see them are inferred from your browsing activity, preferences and user profile. To increase the usability of Veera browser and its Services (including but not limited by improving the accessibility of advertising services), we collect data about user behaviors.

When you view News and browse other Content on Veera

Veera hosts webpages that display news sourced from other news publishers. You may select different individual categories or themes of content for news that you want to view in your newsfeed. You can do this through the user preferences feature in the user profile section on the Veera Application. We may use your chosen preferences and your general location to show you relevant content in the newsfeed (based on your interests and your user profile data).

We make a record of whether you have visited certain categories of websites based on the domains of pages you visit and mix it with other data which may include page loads, number of clicks, time spent on articles, whether you have ad blocker enabled or not, etc. to make an informed guess about whether you are interested in broad categories of interests (such as sports, gaming, news, etc.). We then add this basic profile to other data, such as your general location (country or city) in order to enable our advertising partners to target their ads to groups of users who might be interested in their products and services. We do not share your personal interests or browsing history with anyone.

5.

When you use Veera Games

When you choose to access Veera Games, which is the HTML5 casual gaming service through the Veera browser, we will collect the user gaming behavior and phone number.

We will use this information for enhancing user experience and/or developing new services.

6.

When you contact us

When you contact us through email, or other communication channels available on Veera Application for your queries or concerns, or to report any grievance, you may end up sharing your personal information with us. We may retain and use any information that you may share in this process, in accordance with Applicable Law, to review, investigate, and respond to the queries that you have contacted us about. In addition, we may use your email address or phone number to communicate with you about our Services.

When you provide us Feedback

You may choose to provide us feedback in connection with the Services that you use. The feedback we collect, in most cases, will be anonymous, and cannot be linked back to you. However, where the content of the feedback contains any personal information, we may use the information to act on the feedback, and improve the Services, in accordance with Applicable Law.

We use a select number of trusted external service providers for certain technical data analysis, processing and/or storage offerings etc. For example, we use a variety of third-party services to help operate our services, such as hosting our blog and websites, to help us understand the use of our services, such as Matomo Analytics or Google Tag / Ad Manager. We may share your personal data with such service providers subject to obligations consistent with this Privacy Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures, and on the condition that the third parties use your private personal data only on our behalf and pursuant to our instructions.

We may also disclose your data to any member of our group of companies (this means our subsidiaries and affiliates) insofar as reasonably necessary for the purposes, and on the legal basis set out in this policy.

In such cases, we reserve the right to stop providing Services for which your personal data was sought. Your withdrawal will become effective when you receive an acknowledgment from us. You understand that despite your request to withdraw consent, we may still need to retain some archival data about you to comply with Applicable Laws.

Deletion of Data: You have the option to erase or delete all your personal data in the user profile through the following means:

i.

Website: The user can place a request through a simple form which takes the user details for deletion requests. We will validate the user through an OTP to their phone number.

ii.

 Application: In the Menu Settings screen, the user can place requests for “data deletion”. The user can submit their deletion request by entering the same details and OTP to validate their phone number.

iii.

Once the user submits the details, the Veera customer service team will undertake a second verification with the user to confirm their request for deletion.

iv.

The data will be deleted from our active database once the user provides his second confirmation.

7.

Retention of Data: We do not store your information for a period longer than necessary to provide you Services. We retain the data that we collect for different periods of time depending on what it is, how we use it:

i.

If a user requests us for deletion of user profile, we will delete all data in relation to the user profile, including data collected when user views ads or news or accesses Veera Games.

ii.

Some data may be retained for longer periods of time when necessary, as per Applicable Law or for our legitimate business interest such as security, fraud and abuse prevention, or financial record-keeping. We may be unable to delete data in case of a dispute or pending investigation.

iii.

We may continue to use your data for a limited purpose - including data which is aggregated or combined with anonymized data of other users - even after you have stopped using our Services. We use this for analytics, research and other business purposes.

When you delete data, we follow a deletion process to make sure that your data is safely and completely removed from our servers or retained only in anonymised form. We try to ensure that our services protect information from accidental or malicious deletion. Because of this, there may be delays between when you delete something and when copies are deleted from our active and backup systems.
